28 Losses In A Row, Philadelphia 76ers 2014-2016<\/strong><\/h2>\n

“Wow, you are one pathetic loser.” The Philadelphia 76ers lost 28 straight games spanning two seasons: 2014\u201315 and 2015\u201316, the most consecutive losses in NBA history.<\/p>\n

26 <\/strong>Losses In A Row<\/strong>, Cleveland Cavs 2010-11<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This was destined to be a horrible season from the minute the 2009-’10 season ended, regardless of what Dan Gilbert said publicly and wanted fans to think, privately.<\/p>\n

“The Decision” was made and\u00a0LeBron\u00a0James was gone. Head cheese Mike Brown was giving his walking papers. GM Danny Ferry resigned.<\/p>\n

So what happens when a team loses it’s best player, former NBA Coach of the Year and top level executive? They immediately suck, that’s what.<\/p>\n

From Wikipedia- “Cleveland went from 61 wins in 2009-10 to a conference-worst 19, the biggest single-season drop in NBA history. This season also saw the Cavs lose 63 games, including a 26-game losing streak, which set an NBA record and tied the 1976\u201377\u00a0Tampa Bay Buccaneers\u00a0for the longest losing streak in any American professional team sport.”<\/p>\n

26 Losses In A Row, Philadelphia 76ers 2013-2014<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This was right about the time people were told to “trust the process.” Even before Joel Embiid.<\/p>\n

With two of the top longest losing streaks in NBA history, the 76ers are the Cleveland Browns of the NBA.<\/p>\n

24 Losses In A Row, Cleveland Cavs ’81-’82 and ’82-’83<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Apparently, every 20 years or so the Cavs really crap the bed. This record stood for 18 years before it was broken.<\/p>\n

In 1980 the team was sold to a guy named Ted\u00a0Stepien. Amongst his changes over the next four years was to change the team’s fight song to polka music, create a dance team known as the “Teddy Bears” (Get it-Ted<\/em>dy\u00a0bears? Fans didn’t get it either) and trade away the teams first round picks in multiple years, which lead to a new rule called the “Ted\u00a0Stepien\u00a0Rule”\u00a0which made that illegal.<\/p>\n

Each year the team got worse, culminating with a 19 game losing streak to end ’81-’82.<\/p>\n

23 Losses In A Row, Vancouver Grizzlies 1995-96<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In their defense, this streak took place during their\u00a0inaugural\u00a0season. Amazingly, they still ranked\u00a014th\u00a0in attendance.<\/p>\n

Current ABC\/ESPN\u00a0analyst Greg Anthony led them in scoring. They won 15 games this season and only 14 the next. Then 19, then eight, lol.<\/p>\n

It was pretty hard to wear that Shareef Abdur-Rahim jersey with any seriousness.<\/p>\n

23 Losses In A Row, Denver Nuggets 1997-’98<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The golden era of Nuggets basketball had passed by this point. If you’re a Nuggets fan, read\u00a0this interview I did with\u00a0Dikembe\u00a0Mutombo\u00a0instead of remembering how rough the 1997-’98 season was on you.<\/p>\n

23 Losses In A Row, Charlotte Bobcats 2011-12<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Blame this on\u00a0Michael Jordan, everyone else is. The same way Milli Vanilli “Blamed It On The Rain.”<\/p>\n

The 7-56 record gave the Bobcats the lowest winning percentage in NBA history-.106%. They won the first game of the season, then went 6-56, including a 23 game losing streak.<\/p>\n
